Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of Tuscany, where every glass tells a story of sun and earth. This Rosso di Montalcino, from the Canalicchio Di Sopra estate, is an invitation to discover the vibrant soul of this region, a wine that speaks to you with sincerity and generosity.
The Canalicchio Di Sopra estate, nestled on the hills of Montalcino, is a name that resonates with excellence and respect for the terroir. This Canalicchio cru, the birthplace of this wine, is the fruit of ancestral know-how and a passion for Sangiovese. This unique grape variety, 100% Sangiovese, is the very expression of Tuscany, capturing the essence of its soil and climate.
This 2023 vintage, carefully raised, benefited from an affinamento of about 12 months, shared between tonneaux and large botti. A deep and luminous red color welcomes you. On the nose, you will be charmed by intense notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, enhanced by light floral touches of violet and nuances of undergrowth. A hint of pink pepper completes this olfactory picture, bringing a delicate spicy touch. On the palate, you will discover a medium structure, balanced by a beautiful acidity that brings a welcome freshness. The tannins, soft and polished, contribute to a harmonious, pleasant finish of great naturalness.
This Rosso di Montalcino is the perfect partner for your convivial meals. I recommend it with carni rosse, a traditional bollito or, of course, the rich and flavorful cucina toscana. It also pairs wonderfully with less elaborate meat dishes, salumi or medium-aged cheeses. It is a wine suited to relatively immediate tasting, ideal for accompanying your daily meals and moments of sharing with friends. Serve it at a moderate temperature, after opening it shortly before tasting, to fully appreciate its balance and freshness.
