Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment the Tuscan sun caressing the hills of Montalcino, where this Maselli 2021 is born. It is an invitation to discovery, a wine that speaks to you of tradition and landscapes steeped in history, while retaining a surprising freshness.
This Rosso di Montalcino DOC is the fruit of the work of Tenuta Maselli, an estate rooted in the rich winemaking tradition of this iconic region. Montalcino, known for its exceptional wines, offers a unique terroir where Sangiovese, and more precisely Sangiovese Grosso, flourishes fully. It is here, on these blessed lands, that this wine draws its authentic character.
The 2021 vintage of this Rosso di Montalcino is made 100% from Sangiovese. The vinification follows traditional methods, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks and maceration on the skins, allowing color and aromas to be extracted. Then, it is aged for at least one year in small wooden containers, which gives it structure and complexity while preserving its immediate drinkability. To the eye, you will discover a brilliant, radiant ruby color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe red fruits mingle with light floral notes and a delicate spicy accent. On the palate, this wine stands out for its sapidity and velvety tannins, offering perfect balance and a pleasant persistence. You will find those notes of red fruits, spices and an earthy touch that anchor this wine in its origin.
This Rosso di Montalcino is a true gastronomic chameleon. I warmly recommend it with red meats, whether grilled or in sauce, where its structure and tannins will find a perfect echo. It also pairs wonderfully well with aged cheeses, highlighting their complex flavors. And of course, for a total immersion, it will beautifully accompany typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine. It is the ideal wine for a convivial meal among friends, an evening when you want to bring a touch of authenticity and refinement without pretension. Let yourself be carried away by this pure expression of Tuscany.
