Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself, in the heart of Tuscany, where the hills roll under the sun. That is where I discovered a gem, a wine that whispers the story of its terroir: the Brunello di Montalcino from the Camigliano estate, 2019 vintage. It is not just a wine, it is an invitation to a sensory journey, an immersion into Tuscan authenticity.
The Camigliano estate stretches across the blessed lands of Montalcino, an appellation that resonates with prestige. Here, Sangiovese Grosso reigns supreme, the emblematic grape variety that gives Brunello its power and elegance. This wine is the fruit of organic farming, respectful of the land and its cycles, which, in my eyes, adds an extra dimension to its quality. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by a long maceration, key steps that forge its character before aging for at least five years, a guarantee of its future complexity.
At first glance, its deep and promising color draws you in. On the nose, a symphony of ripe red fruits offers itself to you: juicy red plums, intense black cherries and notes of blackcurrant. Then, more subtle aromas emerge, such as licorice and a touch of bergamot, complemented by nuances of spices, leather and tobacco, revealing the richness of its bouquet. On the palate, you will discover a balanced structure, with polished and harmonious tannins, perfectly integrated into the vintage. Its finesse, its well-balanced acidity and its remarkable persistence make it a wine with exceptional aging potential.
This Brunello di Montalcino is an ideal companion for large gatherings. I recommend it with red meats, whether roasted, grilled, braised or in sauce. It also elevates game and pairs wonderfully with aged cheeses. But do not be mistaken, its versatility is such that you can also enjoy it on its own, as a meditation wine, for a moment of pure contemplation. Let yourself be carried away by this Brunello, it is the promise of a memorable experience, a true piece of Tuscany in your glass.
