Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of the gentle Sienese hills, where the sun caresses the vines. This Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG from Geografico is the very essence of this land, an invitation to discover the authentic flavors of Tuscany.
Today I'm taking you to the Colli Senesi region, an appellation which, as its name suggests, nestles around Siena. It is here, on these generous soils and under a favorable climate, that the Geografico estate cultivates its vines with passion. This Chianti is mainly made from 90% Sangiovese, the king grape variety of Tuscany, complemented by 10% Canaiolo, bringing a touch of balance and finesse. This 2023 vintage is the fruit of traditional vinification in steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit.
To the eye, this wine reveals itself in an intense ruby red color, already promising great complexity. On the nose, you will be charmed by notes of red fruits, especially cherry, enhanced by floral touches of violet and delicate spices. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious body, supported by fine but persistent tannins. Its lively acidity is perfectly integrated, offering beautiful freshness and a finish that invites the next sip. It has benefited from aging of at least 12 months, allowing it to refine its aromas and structure.
This Chianti Colli Senesi is an ideal companion for your table. I particularly recommend it with grilled or sauced red meats, aged cheeses that will enhance its tannins, or typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine. Imagine it alongside a plate of ragù pasta or a tasty ribollita. It is a wine suited both to dinners with friends and to more intimate moments, a bottle to open to share a little of the Tuscan soul.
