Comment on noteThe wine
Let me guide you to a hidden treasure, an authentic expression of the Gaiole terroir. This Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is not just a wine, it is a story, a sensory journey to the heart of Tuscany that I hold so dear.
We are here at the Ricasoli estate, at Brolio, the historic birthplace of Chianti Classico. This wine is a pure Sangiovese, the region's king grape variety, grown with passion on the lands of Gaiole in Chianti. The 2022 vintage, the fruit of ancestral know-how, embodies the quintessence of this unique terroir, shaped by centuries of winemaking history.
From the very first glance, its intense color will captivate you. On the nose, you will discover a complex and ethereal bouquet: black cherry (amarena) mingles with balsamic notes and a delicate woody character, a sign of careful ageing. On the palate, this wine reveals a solid structure, present but perfectly integrated tannins, and a revitalizing freshness. The aromas of ripe red fruits, light floral notes and Mediterranean herbs intertwine, offering remarkable persistence. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (24-27°C) with 14 to 16 days of maceration and the use of indigenous yeasts preserved all the typicity of the fruit. Its 22 months of ageing in 500-liter barrels, followed by 8 months in bottle, give it this elegance and depth.
This Chianti Classico Gran Selezione will be the perfect companion for your meals. I recommend it with grilled red meats, flavorful game or aged cheeses. Picture it on a convivial table, sharing an exceptional moment. Don't hesitate to decant it so it reveals its full aromatic palette. This is a wine that, I know, will win you over and transport you straight under the Tuscan sun.
