Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of Tuscany, where time seems suspended. This Brunello di Montalcino from the Uccelliera estate is an invitation to that escape, a promise of a sensory journey that reveals the power and elegance of its terroir. It embodies the excellence of a centuries-old tradition, enhanced by authentic craftsmanship.
Montalcino, this land blessed by the gods, is the birthplace of this exceptional wine. The Uccelliera estate passionately cultivates Sangiovese Grosso, the unique grape variety that gives birth to this Brunello. Every bunch is the fruit of meticulous work, of constant attention to the vine, to express the quintessence of this very particular terroir. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by a long maceration that extracts all the aromatic and coloring richness of the berries.
When you pour it, you will first be struck by its intense ruby red color, which tends toward garnet with time, a sign of its maturity. On the nose, a rich and persistent bouquet offers itself to you: notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, delicately blend with nuances of tobacco, chocolate and fine spices, inherited from its aging in oak barrels. On the palate, this wine reveals a robust yet harmonious structure, with well-integrated tannins and an aromatic persistence that stretches into a long and satisfying finish. It is aged for a minimum of five years, including at least two in oak barrels, before being bottled and stored in the cellar to reach its peak.
To fully appreciate this Brunello di Montalcino from Uccelliera, I recommend serving it at around 18°C, after decanting it for a few hours. It will be the ideal companion for robust dishes: think of roasted red meats, game or aged cheeses. Imagine it alongside a beef fillet with porcini mushrooms or a platter of pecorino stagionato, and you will get a glimpse of the experience it can offer you. This wine is an invitation to slow down, to savor the moment, and to share a moment of authenticity with those you love. It also has excellent aging potential, able to evolve favorably for more than a decade if you store it under optimal conditions.
