Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment the softness of a Tuscan breeze, the shine of the sun on the vineyards... That is the feeling I rediscover with every tasting of the Confondo from Buccia Nera. This white wine, far from clichés, is an invitation to explore a little-known side of Tuscany, one of freshness and authenticity.
The Buccia Nera estate, nestled at Loc. Campriano, near Arezzo, is a true gem of Tuscany. This wine, classified IGT Toscana Bianco, draws its unique character from a bold and diverse blend. It features grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Moscato, Incrocio Manzoni, Traminer, Sauvignon and Malvasia, creating a fascinating aromatic complexity.
The Confondo stands out for its ancestral-method winemaking, with fermentation in the bottle and aging on the lees. After a year of bottle aging and a year of refinement on the lees, this wine offers a luminous, crystalline appearance that invites discovery. On the nose, you will perceive notes of citrus, ripe yellow fruits and subtle hints of yeast. On the palate, its structure is swift, with lively acidity and a clean finish, revealing fruity returns and a slight sapidity. It is a wine of balance and drinkability, designed to be enjoyed without artifice.
This Confondo from Buccia Nera is an ideal companion for many occasions. Its freshness and liveliness pair wonderfully with delicate fish dishes, seafood, chicken and even pizza. It is also perfect as an aperitif, served at a cool temperature, between 8 and 10 °C, to fully reveal its aromas. I recommend enjoying it young to take advantage of all its freshness, but it will also surprise you after a few months of cellaring. Let yourself be tempted by this Tuscan gem; it will surprise and delight you.
