Comment on noteThe wine
I invite you to discover a gem that breaks the rules: the Pa'ro Orange IGT from Buccia Nera. This is not an ordinary white, but a bold expression of the Tuscan terroir, a wine that tells a story of tradition and innovation.
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, in Loc. Campriano, near Arezzo, the Buccia Nera estate cultivates its vines with a deep respect for nature. This Pa'ro Orange, 2024 vintage, is the fruit of a balanced blend of 50% Grechetto and 50% Trebbiano, two white grape varieties which, under the watchful eye of the winemaker, reveal an unexpected facet here. The estate, certified organic, is committed to sustainable viticulture, guaranteeing the purity and authenticity of every bottle.
This wine stands out for its particular vinification, that of "orange wines". Fermentation with skin maceration, an ancestral technique, gives the Pa'ro Orange a colour of remarkable intensity, much deeper than a traditional white. After this crucial stage, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks for eight months, then rests for at least two months in bottle. On the nose, I perceive an intriguing bouquet, dominated by notes of candied citrus, dried apricot and a light touch of exotic spices, creating a complex and enveloping aroma. On the palate, the Pa'ro Orange surprises with its perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. I detect flavours of ripe yellow fruits, honey and a subtle hint of vanilla, which testifies to the careful ageing. The fruity and spicy notes blend with soft tannins, offering a velvety texture and a most pleasant aromatic persistence.
This wine is a true invitation to culinary exploration. I recommend it with fish and seafood dishes, where its complexity will enhance the marine flavours. It also pairs wonderfully with aged cheeses, whose richness it will balance. Feel free to serve it as an aperitif; it will awaken your palate and prepare you for a memorable meal. The Pa'ro Orange IGT from Buccia Nera is more than a wine; it is an experience, a sensory journey to the heart of an inventive Tuscany that respects its terroirs.
