Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment: the Tuscan sun caressing the hills, a scent of spices and ripe fruit in the air. That is the emotion I feel as I tell you about this Syrah from La Braccesca, a true invitation to a sensory journey.
This wine was born in the heart of the Cortona DOC, in the province of Arezzo, a region where Syrah has found a second home, expressing itself with remarkable authenticity. The La Braccesca estate, with its rich history, has managed to capture the essence of this grape variety on its lands. This 2022 vintage is the result of a maceration of 15 to 18 days, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature, not exceeding 30°C. The malolactic fermentation took place in barriques, a key step in refining its structure.
In your glass, you will discover an intense ruby color, a promise of beautiful depth. On the nose, this Syrah will envelop you with its complex aromas: generous black fruits, touches of tobacco and licorice, lifted by a vibrant black pepper and a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, it reveals a well-defined structure, tannins that are present but already polished, and an acidity that gives it beautiful freshness. The finish is persistent, leaving a fruity and spicy memory that invites the next sip. This wine benefited from 14 months of aging in new barriques, followed by about 12 months in the bottle, allowing it to reach this perfect balance.
To accompany this Syrah from La Braccesca, I suggest pairings that will highlight its richness. It will be the ideal companion to your "primi e secondi di terra", red meats and roasts. Think of a good dish of pasta with mushrooms, a platter of aged charcuterie or semi-hard cheeses. Serve it slightly chilled, between 16 and 18°C, to appreciate all its aromatic nuances. This wine is perfect for informal meals with friends or for a more elaborate dinner. It does not require a long wait in the cellar, but if you wish to see it evolve, it will pleasantly surprise you.
