Yes, you can eat wild boar if you have high cholesterol, provided you favor a lean cut and make it an occasional dish rather than eating it often. Game can be less fatty than some farm-raised meats, but the fat content varies depending on the cut and preparation: wild boar is therefore not automatically a «risk-free» choice for cholesterol.
Remove visible fat and choose oven roasting, grilling or stewing while degreasing the sauce. Above all, avoid wild boar sausages and other charcuterie, as well as preparations with lots of butter, lard or cream: saturated fats should be limited when LDL is high. For a meal, a moderate portion — around 100 to 125 g of cooked meat — can be a practical guideline, without replacing advice tailored to your medical results. If your cholesterol is very high, if you already have cardiovascular disease, or if you are following a prescribed diet, ask your doctor or dietitian what frequency suits you.
