Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine a Tuscan bubble, a delicate dance between tradition and modernity. That's what I discovered with the Leonia Pomino Rosé by Frescobaldi, a wine that whispers stories of sunlit hills and cool breezes.
The Frescobaldi estate, whose history is woven through the centuries, cultivates its vines in the heart of Tuscany, in the prestigious territory of Pomino. Here, the altitude and an ideal climate orchestrate a slow and harmonious ripening of the grape varieties. For this rosé, the Sangiovese and Pinot Nero come together, while the Chardonnay contributes its touch to other creations of the estate. It was in 2021 that this vintage came into being, benefiting from these unique conditions.
This spumante reveals itself to the eye with a fine and persistent perlage, a promise of liveliness. On the nose, I perceive notes of small red fruits, such as wild strawberries and raspberries, interwoven with elegant floral accents and a subtle hint of almond. On the palate, it offers a balanced liveliness, carried by a fresh acidity that makes it particularly pleasant. The 40-month aging on lees, via the Charmat method, contributes to this aromatic complexity and delicate texture.
This rosé is an invitation to lightness and refinement. I recommend it to accompany your aperitivi, those convivial moments where small bites are shared. It will also be an ideal companion for delicate antipasti or fish dishes. Let yourself be charmed by this bubble that expresses the typicality of the Tuscan terroir with a sparkling and contemporary elegance.
