Comment on noteThe wine
I invite you to discover a wine that embodies the soul of Tuscany, an authentic expression of Chianti Classico. It is not just a wine, it is a story, a landscape you are about to taste, a promise of a sensory journey to the heart of the Brolio terroir.
Nestled within the prestigious Chianti Classico DOCG appellation, this wine takes root in the legendary Tenuta di Brolio, the historic birthplace of the Ricasoli estate. It is here, in Gaiole in Chianti, that ancestral know-how meets a passion for the terroir. This Chianti Classico is mainly made from 95% Sangiovese, the king of grape varieties in the region, complemented by 5% Colorino, which brings its touch of color and structure. The 2024 vintage, born from this blessed land, is the result of careful winemaking, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-27°C, followed by 14 to 16 days of maceration. Its aging, of about nine months in second and third-passage barrels, gives it a delicate patina and subtle complexity.
In your glass, you will be charmed by its ruby color of medium intensity, which already promises a fine tasting experience. On the nose, this wine reveals an elegant bouquet of ripe red fruits and cherry, enhanced by light floral notes and a delicate touch of spices. It is an aromatic profile that invites discovery, without exuberance. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance, with soft tannins that caress the palate and a refreshing acidity that sustains the tasting. It all culminates in a persistent and pleasant finish, leaving a lasting impression of refinement.
This Chianti Classico is an ideal companion for your meals, capable of elevating a variety of dishes. I particularly recommend it with costolette d'agnello, grilled lamb chops, where its structure and aromas will pair wonderfully with the richness of the meat. Also imagine it alongside a manzo con funghi, a beef with mushrooms dish, where its fruity notes and freshness will balance the depth of the dish. For a more exotic touch, it will beautifully accompany spiedini di kefta, bringing a Mediterranean dimension to the pairing. It is also at ease with aged cheeses and, of course, all mushroom-based dishes. To fully appreciate its richness, serve it at a moderate temperature in a generous glass, and do not hesitate to decant it slightly if you wish for its aromas to fully blossom. It is the perfect wine for convivial moments, without artifice, just the pleasure of sharing a fine bottle.
