Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment: the Tuscan sun, a light breeze, and in your glass, a golden nectar that tells centuries of history. This Vin Santo is not just a wine, it is an invitation to slowness, a promise of sweetness.
We are in Pomino, an area of Chianti whose wine reputation needs no introduction. The Frescobaldi estate, whose history is intertwined with that of Tuscany, crafts this treasure there. This Vin Santo is the fruit of a meticulous blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia Bianca Toscana and San Colombano, grape varieties that find a unique expression here.
This 2010 vintage reveals itself in an intense, almost hypnotizing amber robe. On the nose, you will discover an enchanting bouquet of dried fruits, honey and candied apricot, with delicate spicy notes that instantly transport you. On the palate, it unfolds a balanced sweetness, a soft texture, refreshed by a welcome acidity. Its persistence is remarkable, leaving an unforgettable imprint on the palate, with precise aromas of almond, honey and dried fruits. The appassimento method of the grapes, followed by a slow fermentation in small barrels and an aging of at least three years, gives this wine a rare complexity and depth.
To elevate this Vin Santo, I recommend pairing it with traditional Tuscan sweets, such as cantucci, those dry almond biscuits that marry it wonderfully. It will also brilliantly accompany aged cheeses, offering a delicious contrast. But beyond the pairings, this wine is an experience in itself. It is perfect for a moment of meditation, an end of meal among friends, or simply to treat yourself. Let yourself be carried away by this authentic expression of the terroir and the ancestral wisdom of the Frescobaldi family.
