Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of Tuscany, where every hill tells a story. This Chianti DOCG from Cantine Leonardo Da Vinci, 2022 vintage, is an invitation to that sensory journey, an authentic expression of a terroir I hold so dear. It embodies tradition and passion; with a glass in hand, you will instantly feel transported.
It is in the heart of the Chianti region, in Tuscany, that this wine is born. The Cantine Leonardo Da Vinci, whose history is intrinsically linked to this land, have managed to capture the essence of their environment. This Chianti DOCG is mainly made from Sangiovese (85%), the king of Tuscan grape varieties, complemented by Merlot (10%) and other red grapes (5%), for a controlled aromatic complexity.
From the very first glance, its brilliant ruby red color, with garnet highlights that will develop over time, captivates the eye. On the nose, you will discover a rich and persistent bouquet, where notes of red fruits, notably cherry and wild berries, delicately blend with spicy accents and a light vanilla touch. On the palate, this wine reveals itself robust and harmonious. The tannins are balanced, evolving toward an enveloping softness. The freshness, characteristic of Sangiovese, is perfectly balanced, and the finish is long and pleasantly fruity. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by maceration on the skins, then aging of at least three months in the bottle, guaranteeing a beautiful evolution.
To fully appreciate this Chianti DOCG, I recommend serving it between 16 and 18°C. It will pair wonderfully with red meats, aged cheeses, or typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine. Picture it alongside a pasta al ragù, a grilled meat, or a platter of medium-aged cheeses. It is a wine that celebrates the Italian art of living, a true fusion with the Tuscan winemaking tradition. It is perfect for a convivial dinner among friends, a romantic evening, or simply for a moment of pure escape.
