Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself, in the heart of Tuscany, where time seems to stand still. It is here, at the Ricasoli estate, that a Chianti Classico DOCG 2023 is born, whispering the story of its land. This wine is not just a drink, it is an invitation to a sensory journey, a promise of balance and authentic flavors.
I'm taking you to Gaiole in Chianti, within the prestigious Chianti Classico DOCG appellation, where the Ricasoli estate, with its centuries-old history, cultivates its vines with passion. This wine is mainly made from Sangiovese (95%), the king grape variety of Tuscany, complemented by a touch of Colorino (5%) which brings its color and structure. The 2023 vintage, young and vibrant, is the result of meticulous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature between 24 and 27°C, with maceration of 14 to 16 days to best extract its aromas and color.
In your glass, this Chianti Classico reveals itself with a bright, brilliant ruby color. On the nose, you will perceive notes of ripe red fruits, notably cherry, accompanied by light spicy touches and a pleasant freshness. On the palate, it confirms these sensations of red-fleshed fruits, with soft and well-integrated tannins that support the fruit without ever masking it. A sapid vein appears, promoting its drinkability and prolonging the pleasure through to a persistent finish. This wine benefited from approximately 9 months of aging in tonneaux (second or third use), which gives it beautiful complexity without masking its original fruit.
This Chianti Classico 2023 is a marvel of versatility. I warmly recommend it with dishes from traditional Italian cuisine. Imagine it alongside grilled meats (carni alla griglia), fine charcuterie (salumi) or aged cheeses (formaggi stagionati). It will also pair wonderfully with your primi piatti. Whether for a convivial meal among friends or a more refined occasion, it will adapt. Remember to serve it at room temperature and, if you have time, don't hesitate to open it a little in advance so it can breathe and express its full aromatic palette. It is an invitation to share a moment of Tuscan authenticity, a bottle that promises beautiful discoveries.
