What is the most beautiful seaside town in Tuscany?

I would choose Castiglione della Pescaia : it's probably the best compromise in Tuscany if you want a real seaside town, with a medieval center on the hill and long sandy beaches nearby. To the west of the port, you can reach the shore on foot from the center; to the east, the beaches stretch toward Marina di Grosseto, behind a pine forest, and a cycle path follows part of the coastline. The town is about 23 km from Grosseto.

La nuance : en July and August, the seafront is busy, parking spots can be hard to find and private establishments drive up the budget. There are also stretches of free beach, so you can avoid renting a parasol, but check the access points and conditions on site. To enjoy the village without the biggest crowds, aim rather for June or September ; the sea can be pleasant, but the weather remains less predictable than in midsummer. If you are mainly looking for coves and a wilder setting, look at the surroundings of Rocchette, a few kilometers to the north, rather than expecting to find an isolated beach in the heart of the town.

Keep an hour free with no plans: the charm of Castiglione della Pescaia is also being able to let the day branch off according to your whims, rather than organizing everything around the deck chair.
