Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of Tuscany, where the hills roll under a generous sun. It is from this enchanting landscape that Macchialuna 2021 comes to us, a white wine that captures the very essence of its land. It doesn't just refresh you; it invites you on a sensory journey, a luminous interlude.
The La Nascosta estate, as its name suggests, is a hidden treasure within the magnificent Val d'Orcia, a region listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is here, in this picture-postcard setting, that this Toscana Bianco IGT is born. The 2021 vintage is the fruit of a bold and harmonious blend: 60% Petit Manseng, a grape variety that brings structure and complexity, and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, for its liveliness and distinctive aromas. This marriage is an exploration of the possibilities offered by the Tuscan terroir.
When you pour this Macchialuna, you discover a brilliant straw-yellow color, dotted with golden highlights that announce its richness. On the nose, it offers you an intriguing aromatic bouquet: notes of white-fleshed fruits such as peach and apple mingle with touches of citrus and delicate floral nuances. These aromas are subtly balanced by a discreet minerality, the signature of its origin. On the palate, this wine reveals itself fresh and lively. Its acidity is perfectly balanced, providing a sensation of lasting freshness. The structure is ample, enveloping the palate with softness without ever being heavy. You will find the fruity notes perceived on the nose, extended by a persistent finish, slightly saline and mineral. This wine was vinified in steel tanks, where it aged for 8 to 10 months, then in bottle for 8 to 12 months, thus refining its personality.
This Macchialuna is a wine of natural elegance, ready to elevate your meals. I particularly recommend it with light antipasti, summer salads, or dishes based on fish and shellfish. Picture it on a sun-drenched table, accompanying a grilled sea bream or garlic shrimp. It is the perfect wine for those moments when you seek to combine freshness, refinement, and authenticity. It is the invitation to savor Tuscany, glass in hand.
