Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine a stroll through Tuscany, where every glass tells a story. Today, I invite you to discover a wine that embodies this gentleness, a more tender expression of the Antinori tradition: the Rosso di Montepulciano 2023. It is an open door onto the richness of this land, without artifice.
We are in Montepulciano, an emblematic DOC appellation of Tuscany, where the wine-growing history is as deep as the roots of the vines. The Antinori estate, whose origins date back to 1385, is a true monument of Italian viticulture. This Rosso di Montepulciano is made mainly from the Sangiovese grape, locally called Prugneto Gentile, which is the soul of this region. The vinification takes place in steel tanks, with maceration on the skins to extract color and aromas, followed by 6 to 12 months of aging, allowing the wine to refine its structure.
From the very first glance, its ruby red color envelops you. On the nose, you will be charmed by delicate floral notes, quickly followed by the brilliance of small red fruits and the sweetness of cherry, signatures of Sangiovese. On the palate, this wine reveals itself softer and more supple than other crus of the estate, with a pleasant persistence and beautiful liveliness. It offers a tasting experience where finesse prevails, without lacking character thanks to its beautiful body.
To accompany this Rosso di Montepulciano 2023, I suggest you turn to the authentic flavors of Tuscany. It will be an ideal companion for grilled red meats, where its freshness will balance the richness of the flavors. Also think of salumi, those traditional cured meats that pair so well with the liveliness of Sangiovese. Finally, don't hesitate to enjoy it with aged cheeses, which will reveal all the complexity of its aromas. It is a wine to be shared, an invitation to conviviality, perfect for a dinner with friends or a moment of relaxation where one takes the time to appreciate the beauty of simple things.
