The sea view in the Tuscan Maremma is often more dramatic than one imagines from the map: it's not the view of a flat coastline, but the blue waters glimpsed between the wooded hills of the coastal Maremma, the Tuscan archipelago on the horizon (Giglio, Giannutri, Elba, Montecristo), the Orbetello lagoons shimmering in the evening light. A unique combination of the Mediterranean and the Tuscan inland landscape that few regions of Italy can offer.
Agriturismos with sea views are concentrated in the hills of the coastal Maremma: between Castiglione della Pescaia, Orbetello and Capalbio, at altitudes of 100 to 300 meters. Some allow you to glimpse, in clear weather, Monte Argentario, the Orbetello peninsula and its lagoons, and the island of Giglio on the horizon — a panorama that alone justifies the choice of the property.
Tip: the sea view is often clearer in the low season (October to April) when the vegetation is less dense and the air more limpid. In summer, the heat haze can reduce visibility — but summer sunsets over the sea remain spectacular.
