The mid-range category in Tuscan agriturismo offers the best balance between comfort, authenticity and value for money. At this level, you find properties with a swimming pool, spacious rooms with a private terrace, sometimes an equipped kitchen in the apartment, and often a table d'hôte or the possibility of buying the farm's products (oil, wine, cheese, charcuterie).
The mid-range agritourism properties in our selection are often medium-sized family properties — not a hotel complex with dozens of rooms, but farms with 5 to 15 accommodations where the owner remains present and available for local advice. It is in this range that you find the best table d'hôte and the most accessible wine experiences: the owner offers you a glass of his wine before dinner, tells you the story of the property, and points you to his favorite hiking trails.
This range is also the one that benefits most from booking outside the high season (July-August): the same properties, with the same amenities, are available 20 to 30% cheaper in May, September or October — which are objectively the best months to visit the Maremma.
