Comment on noteThe wine
You may know the island of Elba for its sunny beaches and Mediterranean landscapes. But did you know it also harbors wine treasures? Today, I'm taking you to discover a wine that captures the very essence of this land: the Elba Rosso DOC from Tenuta La Chiusa.
Nestled on the island of Elba, in Tuscany, the Tenuta La Chiusa estate is committed to revealing the unique characteristics of this island terroir. This red wine is the fruit of a rigorous selection of grape varieties, mainly Sangiovese at 70%, complemented by Merlot at 30%. It is an alliance that expresses all the richness of the Elban soil, imbued with the sea breeze and generous sunshine.
Visually, you will be charmed by its ruby red color with purplish highlights. On the nose, this 2024 vintage reveals an intense aromatic bouquet. I detect notes of ripe red fruits, notably cherry and plum, interwoven with nuances of aromatic herbs. A spicy touch, evoking spices, leather, black pepper and violet, also emerges. Vinification in steel tanks with seven days of maceration, followed by a brief aging in oak barrels, gives this wine a balanced structure. On the palate, the tannins are finely woven, accompanied by a pleasant freshness and remarkable aromatic persistence.
This wine is an ideal companion for your meals. I particularly recommend it with grilled red meats, game or aged cheeses. It will enhance these dishes with its structure and complex aromas. Serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C to appreciate all its nuances. It is an invitation to a taste journey, a Tuscan interlude that will transport you directly to the island of Elba, for the duration of a tasting.
