Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself on the Tuscan hills, the sea breeze caressing the vines. It is there, in the heart of Bolgheri, that this red wine is born, an authentic expression of a unique terroir. Il Bruciato by Antinori is an invitation to discover the elegance and depth of a wine that knows how to combine power and finesse.
This Bolgheri DOC Superiore is the fruit of a meticulous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, grape varieties that flourish fully in the rich soils and under the privileged microclimate of this region. The Antinori house, with its history and know-how, cultivates these vines with particular attention, allowing the grapes to express all their complexity. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by a prolonged maceration that extracts the quintessence of aromas and colors, before 12 to 18 months of aging.
From the very first glance, this wine reveals itself in an intense ruby red robe, promising a rich tasting. On the nose, I perceive notes of ripe red fruits, blackcurrant and cherry, interlaced with sweet spices like vanilla and chocolate, a legacy of its time in barriques. Balsamic and mineral touches complete this bouquet, the signature of its Bolgheri origin. On the palate, it reveals remarkable elegance, with soft but well-present tannins that frame a velvety texture. The flavor palette unfolds between ripe fruits and spicy notes, with a light roasting. The acidity is perfectly integrated, bringing a persistent freshness that prolongs the pleasure until a long and harmonious finish.
This Bolgheri DOC Superiore is a wine that pairs wonderfully with rich and flavorful dishes. I recommend it with grilled red meats, a game roast or aged cheeses. It is also a wine you can enjoy on its own, for a moment of pure contemplation, an evening when you want to treat yourself and travel to Tuscany without leaving your living room.
