The Ildebranda tomb is located in the Etruscan necropolis of Poggio Felceto, to the west of Sovana, in the Città del Tufo archaeological park, in the territory of Sorano. From the village, take the provincial road towards San Martino sul Fiora : the necropolis car park is about 2 km. From Sovana Cathedral, it is only some 600 m as the crow flies, but reaching the entrance on foot via the road makes the journey longer; so don't count on a direct and obvious pedestrian access from the center.
Once parked, follow the signs for the Poggio Felceto area and the park trails to the tomb. It is carved into the tuff and recognizable by its monumental façade, sculpted to evoke a temple. Good to know before going: the monument is very eroded, and the underground burial chamber does not retain its original furnishings. The visit takes place in a developed archaeological site, with other tombs nearby; plan suitable footwear for the paths and check the park's access conditions before leaving, as entry to the necropolis is paid.
