What are the temperatures in Maremma in summer?

In summer, generally count on 28 to 32 °C in the afternoon in Maremma, with nights around 15 à 19 °C. À Grosseto, the climate normals give average maximums of about 28 °C en juin, , then 31 to 32 °C in July and August ; average minimums hover around 15 °C en juin and 18 °C in July-August. These are averages, not a guarantee for every day.

La côte, vers Castiglione della Pescaia or Monte Argentario, often enjoys a sea breeze, while inland areas can feel hotter during the day. During heatwaves, the thermometer can exceed 35 °C, and occasionally reach 40 °C : that's not the usual temperature, but it happens. July and August are the hottest and driest months; so plan to limit sightseeing in full sun during the midday hours and keep water with you. In the evening, light clothing is often enough, but an extra layer can be useful if you stay out late, especially near the sea.

In Maremma, the sun sometimes has the last word: save ambitious walks for the morning, and leave the golden hours to the grand landscapes — your camera will thank you.
