Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment the soft light of a Tuscan afternoon, filtering through the vines. That is exactly the emotion I feel when tasting this Vinsanto from the Lamole estate, a true gem that whispers stories of patience and tradition.
Nestled in the heart of Chianti Classico, the Lamole estate belongs to this blessed land where the sun and tradition shape wines of rare authenticity. This Vinsanto is the very expression of this unique terroir, made from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, historic varieties of the region. It is an age-old tradition that comes to life in every drop, a meticulous winemaking method that begins with the appassimento of the grapes, a slow and natural drying, followed by an equally slow fermentation.
Its luminous amber colour is an invitation to discovery. On the nose, I perceive a delicate and complex bouquet: notes of honey, apricot and almond blend harmoniously, complemented by touches of dried fruit and candied orange zest. On the palate, the sweetness is perfectly balanced, never overwhelming, supported by a refreshing acidity and a hint of salinity that maintains liveliness. The texture is soft, but never syrupy, revealing nuances of cooked fruit and light spices. This 2019 vintage, aged for a minimum of three years in wooden barrels, offers an elegant persistence that prolongs the pleasure.
This Vinsanto is an invitation to contemplation. I recommend it with dolci secchi, those dry biscuits typical of Tuscany, or cakes made with dried fruit. For a bolder experience, dare the pairing with aged cheeses or blue cheeses, the contrast between sweet and savoury is absolutely divine. Serve it cool, between 10 and 12 °C, in glasses that are not too wide to better concentrate its aromas. It is a wine that sublimates the end of the meal, without needing any artifice.
