This gustatory journey takes us to the heart of the hills of Panzano in Chianti, birthplace of the Vigneti Tenute del Cabreo, property of the Folonari house. It is here, on this blessed land, that Chardonnay finds an unexpected expression, far from the usual clichés. The 2001 vintage of La Pietra is the fruit of meticulous vinification: a fermentation initiated in steel tanks, then continued in wood halfway through, followed by aging of at least 24 months in barrels. This method gives the wine remarkable complexity and depth.
From the very first glance, its deep golden color whispers to you the story of its years gone by. On the nose, you will be charmed by aromas of chamomile and dried tea, interwoven with notes of honey, sage and aromatic herbs. Wafts of cedar and lemon bring an unexpected freshness, while a touch of toasting and menthol reveals the maturity and complexity of this wine. On the palate, it unfolds a full structure, a harmonious balance between soft components and a persistent freshness, all culminating in a sustained and elegant finish.
