Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment the gentle Tuscan hills bathed in sunshine, and in the middle, a delicate, fruity bubble with unexpected freshness. This Spumante Brut Rosé from Fattoria del Cerro is the very essence of that surprise, a sparkling invitation to discover another facet of Tuscany. I'm taking you along on this tasting.
Fattoria del Cerro is a story written on the lands of Montepulciano, a name you probably associate with great red wines. Yet it is here, in the heart of this prestigious appellation, that this effervescent rosé is born. The king grape variety, Sangiovese, is here elevated in a different expression, but just as authentic. It is a fine proof of the versatility of this emblematic grape of the region.
This Spumante Brut Rosé reveals itself to the eye with a pink robe with violet reflections, a hue that already promises beautiful liveliness. On the nose, I perceive intense fruity notes, dominated by red fruit aromas, where raspberry and cherry stand out with remarkable clarity. On the palate, it offers beautiful fullness, supported by a fine and persistent perlage that gently caresses the palate. Its vinification, by the Charmat method, involves a gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by a long and slow fermentation at controlled temperature (between 12° and 14° C), which preserves and concentrates its aromas. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests on its fine lees for three months, before the addition of the liqueur de tirage and a slow prise de mousse of at least 24 months, giving this Spumante its complexity and finesse.
This Spumante Brut Rosé is a perfect choice to start a meal, ideal to accompany your aperitivi and antipasti. Its depth of flavor and richness also allow it to pair with white meats, offering beautiful harmony. And if you're feeling bold, I recommend trying it with a pizza, you'll be surprised by the pairing. It's a wine that celebrates the joy of living, perfect for moments of sharing with friends or family, under the Tuscan sun or simply to bring a little of that light to your table.
