Hidden Tuscany Rating

Comment on noteThe wine
Let me guide you to a hidden treasure of Tuscan Maremma, a vibrant expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This wine is an invitation to explore the depth and elegance of a unique terroir, an unforgettable encounter with mastered power.
The Le Mortelle estate, located in Castiglione della Pescaia, in the very heart of Maremma, is the birthplace of this Botrosecco. It is here, between the sea breeze and the Mediterranean scrubland, that these Cabernets draw their character. The grapes are carefully destemmed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 25°C, with a maceration of about fifteen days. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit.
In your glass, Botrosecco displays a deep ruby color, luminous and dense. On the nose, you will be charmed by intense aromas of ripe red fruits, enhanced by herbaceous notes typical of Cabernet. Touches of eucalyptus, Mediterranean herbs, tobacco and pepper mingle with nuances of cocoa and a subtle mineral hint, almost graphite. On the palate, it reveals a full body, supported by well-defined tannins that provide a balanced structure. The tasting is enveloping, with a flavorful and persistent progression where the fruit remains compact, never dominating the whole. After about ten months in barriques, this wine reaches remarkable complexity and harmony.
This Botrosecco is the ideal partner for grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses. Imagine it alongside a good slow-cooked dish, where its structure will beautifully complement the rich and intense flavors. To fully appreciate its balance and aromatic intensity, remember to serve it at a controlled temperature, and don't hesitate to let it breathe slightly after opening, especially if you plan an extended service. It is a wine that invites sharing and celebration, turning every meal into a special occasion.
