Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself, in the heart of Tuscany, where history and modernity meet. This wine is an invitation to a sensory journey, an authentic expression of the Valdarno terroir that whispers to you stories of sun and passion. It embodies elegance and depth, revealing the richness of an estate that has managed to marry tradition and innovation.
The Il Borro estate, owned by the Ferragamo family, is nestled in Valdarno, a Tuscan region where the vines flourish under a generous climate. This Toscana IGT Rosso 2018 is the fruit of a meticulous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The vinification is carried out with care, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a prolonged maceration of 22 days, allowing optimal extraction of aromas and colors.
Its robe is an intense ruby red, already promising great complexity. On the nose, I perceive seductive aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, interlaced with spicy notes of black pepper. I also detect light nuances of tobacco and dark chocolate, which testify to a controlled aging. On the palate, this wine reveals itself powerful yet harmonious. The tannic structure is well integrated, offering beautiful persistence and a balanced acidity that gives it excellent aging potential. It has aged 18 months in French oak barrels, which brought it this complexity and this elegance.
This Toscana IGT Rosso is a wine that calls for the table. I highly recommend it to accompany dishes of carnes rosse, grilled red meats or meats in sauce, where its structure can fully express itself. It will also be perfect with formaggi stagionati, aged cheeses that will know how to dialogue with its spicy and fruity notes. It is the ideal wine for a special occasion, a dinner among friends, or simply to treat yourself and offer yourself a moment of escape in Tuscany. Let yourself be carried away by this wine that expresses the very essence of its terroir.
