Comment on noteThe wine
Far from the beaten path, I'm taking you today to discover a wine that embodies Tuscan Maremma with remarkable authenticity. This Morellino di Scansano from Tenuta Ammiraglia is an invitation to explore bold flavors and understated elegance, perfect for your moments of sharing.
We are here in the Maremma, that wild and fascinating land of the province of Grosseto, where the sun and the sea breeze shape wines with a strong character. Tenuta Ammiraglia, an estate I appreciate for its respectful approach to the terroir, passionately cultivates its vines there. This Morellino di Scansano is mainly made from the Sangiovese grape, called Morellino here, complemented by a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, bringing structure and complexity.
From the very first glance, its intense red color will charm you. On the nose, you will be delighted by an expressive and generous bouquet: notes of wild strawberry and raspberry blend with the sweetness of cherry, enhanced by a floral touch of wild rose and a hint of sweet spices. On the palate, this wine offers lovely freshness and supple tannins, with a persistent fruitiness that invites the next sip. It underwent vinification in steel tanks, where it also aged for twelve months, thus preserving all the purity of its fruity aromas.
This Morellino di Scansano is an ideal companion for your table. I particularly recommend it with slow-cooked dishes, such as meats in sauce, where its structure and fruity aromas will pair wonderfully. It will also happily accompany medium-aged cheeses, creating a perfect balance between the richness of the cheese and the freshness of the wine. It is a wine that suits both everyday meals and more informal moments with friends. Its versatility makes it a wise choice for exploring the flavors of Tuscany without fuss, just the authentic pleasure of a good glass.
