The best tables in Maremma are mainly found in Castiglione della Pescaia for fish, aroundAlberese for Maremma cuisine, and in the inland villages for fresh pasta and game. There is no single gastronomic center: distances matter, and a car is very handy.

In Castiglione, theOsteria del Mare is an address to look at for seafood; it appears in the Bib Gourmand selection of the 2026 Michelin Guide, with a moderate price level. For a gourmet meal and a significantly higher budget, the Trattoria Enrico Bartolini has a star there. As for the countryside, near the Maremma Park, the agriturismi and trattorie of Alberese serve in particular tortelli, pappardelle and wild boar: check the opening days and book, especially in summer.
