When was the Tomb of Ildebranda built?

The Tomb of Ildebranda was built in the Etruscan period, generally dated to the IIIe au IIe century BC. The exact dating remains debated: some presentations place it more precisely in the 3rde century BC, while others use a broader range.

It is located in the necropolis of Sovana, near Sorano, in Maremma. Not to be confused with its construction date: the tomb was discovered in 1924. Its name was given to it much later, in reference to Ildebrando of Sovana, who became Pope Gregory VII; the identity of the person buried there is unknown.

The most intriguing thing is this gap between a monumental tomb and a history that keeps its shadowy areas: enough to leave with a few questions in mind.
