How do you get to the Maremma Natural Park by car?

By car, take the exit Rispescia–Alberese–Parco Naturale della Maremma on the SS1 Aurelia, then follow the provincial road to Alberese, where the visitor centre is located. Coming from the north, the exit is about 7 km south of Grosseto ; coming from the south, follow the Alberese sign at kilometre 166 of the Aurelia.

To reach the hiking starting points, continue towards Pinottolai following the park signs: park in the designated area and buy your hiking ticket at the visitor centre or online. Cars are not allowed to drive freely on the trails. For the beach, continue to Marina di Alberese ; the car park is paid in season and spaces may run out on busy days. The published rate is about 2 € per hour for a car, but check the current conditions before setting off.

Right now, from 5 to 24 October 2026, the barriers of the Marina di Alberese car park open at 7 h 15 et ferment à 19 h 45 : don't count on being able to retrieve your car after closing. Opening hours change depending on the period and parking is free outside the regulated season; check the signs at the entrance before going in.

Once you've left the fast road, let the GPS do its job and enjoy the change of scenery: Maremma has a much wilder side than postcard Tuscany.
