Soldera's Sangiovese from Montalcino, fermented in steel with long maceration and aged 24 months, with notes of red fruits, spices and earth. Main reserve: a Toscana IGT with no distinction at €751.03 per bottle.
Sangiovese from Montalcino as Toscana IGT: grape variety and zone named, red fruit, spice and earthy notes profile consistent, but the IGT remains generic with no sub-zone.
No awards or guides mentioned; the producer Soldera is named, but nothing attests to a distinguished level. Rating maintained within the range of a simple absence.
At €751.03 per bottle (crossed-out price €906.99) for a Toscana IGT with no distinction or specified noble aging, the price is very high for what is described.

Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself in the heart of Tuscany, where time seems suspended and the vine tells stories. This wine from Soldera is an invitation to a sensory journey, an immersion in the most authentic wine tradition.
It is on the hills of Montalcino, cradle of illustrious wines, that the Soldera estate cultivates with almost religious meticulousness its unique grape variety, Sangiovese. Each bunch is the fruit of artisanal work, of a rigorous manual selection. Fermentation takes place naturally, without any added yeasts, thus respecting the purest expression of the fruit and its terroir. This 2019 vintage, I find it particularly revealing of this philosophy.
In your glass, this Sangiovese reveals itself in a deep and brilliant ruby red color, a promise of the intensity to come. On the nose, you will be captivated by a complex and powerful bouquet: notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, blend delicately with scents of sweet spices, tobacco and even a subtle touch of leather. On the palate, the harmony is perfect. The tannins are refined, the freshness is exquisite, and the long, mineral persistence on the finish leaves you with an impression of rare elegance. It has aged 24 months in barrels, which gives it a remarkable structure.
This Soldera Toscana IGT is the ideal companion for generous tables. I recommend it with grilled red meats, a succulent game dish or aged cheeses. But do not deprive yourself of the pleasure of tasting it alone, to appreciate every nuance. It is a wine that calls for contemplation, a privileged moment to celebrate the richness of Tuscany.
