Comment on noteThe wine
Today I invite you to meet a wine that embodies the wild beauty of Tuscan Maremma. Poliziano's Lohsa is not just a Morellino di Scansano, it is a story of sun, land and passion, an authentic expression of its terroir. Let me guide you to this gem that is sure to surprise you.
The Poliziano estate, whose history began in 1961, is primarily associated with Nobile di Montepulciano, but it is in Magliano, in the province of Grosseto, that it gives birth to this Morellino di Scansano. This wine comes mainly from the Sangiovese grape, complemented by a touch of Canaiolo, grown on lands bathed in the Maremma sun. It is a wine that draws its strength from this generous nature.
From the very first glance, its ruby red color is an invitation to taste. On the nose, you will discover an intense olfactory profile, where aromas of red fruits, cherries and plums blend harmoniously with spicy notes and balsamic touches. On the palate, the Lohsa reveals itself delicately sapid and fresh, perfectly balanced. Its tannins are well integrated, offering a pleasant and persistent finish. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by partial aging in large oak barrels and steel for about eight months, before a short rest in the bottle.
This Morellino di Scansano is an ideal companion for your meals. I particularly recommend it with pasta dishes in meat sauce, grilled red meats or medium-aged cheeses. Imagine it on your table, sharing a moment of conviviality with your loved ones, or simply to treat yourself after a long day. It is a wine that invites discovery and sharing, a true window onto authentic Tuscany.
