👥 Who it's for: Travelers in search of authenticity, lovers of natural wines and immersive experiences
Dear lovers of authentic Tuscany, today I am taking you to a secret corner of the Maremma, where nature dictates its law, where the landscapes are poetry and where the wine tells a story of harmony. Far off the beaten path, we are going to explore the Fattoria La Maliosa, a true gem for lovers of terroir and authenticity.
Imagine a place where agriculture does not merely produce, but dialogues with the landscape, respects its delicate balances and even adds value to them. This is the founding philosophy of Fattoria La Maliosa, a name which, on its own, is an invitation to wonder. «Maliosa» comes from the Italian verb «ammaliare», which means «to bewitch», «to enchant». And believe me, this place has the power to cast a spell on you from the very first moments.
Born from the vision of Antonella Manuli, the farm extends over 170 hectares in the gentle hills of Maremma, near Saturnia. Here, vines, olive trees, arable land and forests coexist in perfect synergy. La Maliosa is not just a farm, it is an ecosystem where every element has its place and contributes to a fragile and precious balance. Since its founding in 2010, the farm has proudly been certified organic and biodynamic, a commitment that demonstrates an unwavering determination to do things differently, in harmony with the land.
La Maliosa draws its richness from two distinct terroirs that shape its wines and olive oil:
Their idea of quality is simple: to produce wines and extra virgin olive oil in an artisanal way, in total respect of nature. It is an assumed transparency, a deep awareness that every balance is fragile and that man must move forward «on tiptoe» because the land is a finite and precious resource.
La Maliosa's vineyards are much more than simple plots. They are the beating heart of a vast ecosystem. The management is holistic and sustainable, respecting the history of the territory. The farming method, minimally invasive and in harmony with the environment, guarantees the balance between plants, animals and humans.
They made the choice to plant grape varieties once grown in the Maremma, promoting genetic variability. They even recovered a semi-abandoned vineyard over 60 years old, which they named the Vigna Madre. It is from this «mother vine» that they selected and recovered ancient grape varieties for their new plantings. Today, you can find red grape varieties there such as the Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese and Cannonau grigio, as well as white varieties such as Procanico, Trebbiano and Grechetto.
Among the emblematic vineyards, let us mention:
Fattoria La Maliosa is not just a place of production, it is also a destination in its own right. Whether you are just passing through or wishing to fully immerse yourself, several options are available to you:

If you are looking for more elaborate cuisine, the Saturnalia Wine Bar, just 11 km from the center of Saturnia, offers an à la carte menu.
Fattoria La Maliosa is located at Loc. Podere Monte Cavallo, Saturnia, Manciano (GR), Italy. To get there, I highly recommend using Waze or Google Maps. The estate is a few kilometers from Manciano, Saturnia and Montemerano.
The opening hours are every day from 10:00 to 18:00.
Fattoria La Maliosa is much more than a simple wine estate; it is a philosophy, a way of life, a celebration of the beauty and authenticity of Tuscany. An experience I warmly recommend if you are looking to connect with nature and the true taste of this magnificent region.
