What is the most beautiful spot on the island of Giglio?

For nature and peace and quiet, I would choose the Caldane beach, a small cove of golden sand on the east coast of theIsola del Giglio. It is more intimate than the main beaches, but you have to accept getting there on foot or by boat: from the Cannelle beach, allow about 1.2 km and a 25-minute walk along a coastal path. The trail is partly exposed to the sun and runs along a steep coastline; bring good shoes and water, especially in summer.

If you prefer an easily accessible beach with more services, go instead to Campese : it is the largest on the island, with sand with reddish highlights, a tower to the north and a large rock to the south. The landscape there is less wild, but the contrast of colors is beautiful, especially at the end of the day. So my choice would depend on what you mean by "the most beautiful spot": Caldane for the cove and the walk, Campese for the large bay and the panorama. In both cases, the sea and the condition of the trail can vary depending on the weather; check the conditions on site before setting off.

The real dilemma is choosing between the pleasure of finding a hidden spot and that of taking in the views: on Giglio, beauty has more than one face!
