What hiking trails are there in the Maremma National Park?

In the Maremma Park, you can choose between short easy walks and longer hikes in the Uccellina mountains, towards towers, an abbey or beaches. For walking without much elevation gain, look at A5 – Forest itinerary (1,8 km), A6 – Fauna itinerary (2,2 km) ou A9 – I Valloni (8.3 km, flat). A10 – Collelungo beach (11.2 km) follows the coastline and requires more time, even though the route is rated easy.

For a more sporty hike, A2 – Le Torri is 11.3 km, about 3 h 40, with panoramic views over the plain and the sea. A1 – San Rabano (17.6 km, about 6 h 20) leads to the abbey through the woods; its variant A1b fait 7,9 km. A4 – Cala di Forno (17,4 km) et C1 – Salto del Cervo (11.2 km) are also long and demanding outings. On the Talamone side, T1 Punta del Corvo is shorter (3.9 km), while T2 Cannelle is 8.8 km long and includes difficult sections.

The trails are not all accessible year-round: conditions can change depending on the season, heat, or park restrictions. Check openings and the required ticket with the visitor center ofAlberese before setting off, especially in summer. Bring water and avoid long routes during the hottest hours.

Maremma has a knack for turning a hike into a little quest: between forest, towers and coves, you don't walk just to count the kilometers. Me, I vote for the trail that holds a lovely surprise at the end!
