Which craft and local markets can you find nearby in Maremma?

In Maremma, first look at the weekly markets of Follonica and Grosseto for food products; craft markets, on the other hand, are rather one-off or seasonal. In Follonica, the market of Campagna Amica takes place on Friday morning at Parco Centrale, generally from 8 h 30 à 13 h : you can find fruit and vegetables, cheeses, charcuterie, oil and wine from producers there. The big Friday market also brings together non-food stalls, but it is not an exclusively craft market.

In Grosseto, the weekly market of Thursday, around piazza Esperanto and piazza De Maria, notably offers food products, among many other stalls. For crafts, keep an eye instead on the temporary fairs and exhibitions of Follonica and the coastal resorts: they often take place in summer, but their dates change from one year to the next. The small agricultural markets of Principina a Mare are also summer ones; those announced for 2026 ended in August. Without knowing where you are staying, I cannot tell you which one is the closest: in Maremma, journeys between the coast and the inland villages can easily take 30 to 60 minutes by car. Check the local calendar before setting off, especially out of season.

Keep a little room in your schedule: the nicest finds are not always the ones you came looking for. And if you go home with provisions rather than a craft object, Maremma will still have won its bet!
