What transport option is there to Castiglione della Pescaia from Grosseto?

The simplest without a car is the direct Autolinee Toscane bus, line 1/G, departing from Grosseto F.S. to the stop Castiglione Garibaldi : allow about 45 minutes et autour de €4.60 one way. Timetables change depending on the day and season, and departures can be spaced out, especially outside summer; so check the schedule for the day before setting out, rather than counting on a bus every hour.

By car, you need to cover about 23 km, generally in 30 minutes via the Collacchie road. It's more convenient if you also want to reach the beaches around Castiglione, but in summer traffic and parking can lengthen the trip. A taxi exists, but the price is clearly less attractive for this short distance.

There is no train to Castiglione: if you arrive in Grosseto by train, the bus is the connection to take. For the ticket, buy an extra-urban ticket before boarding or check the options available in the app at bus. Also remember to check the return trip: the timetables are not necessarily symmetrical, and the last departures can be early depending on the day.

After the pace of Grosseto, the sea air of Castiglione pleasantly changes the atmosphere: it's better to keep some time to stroll than to plan a visit at a running pace.
