How long does it take to get from Grosseto to Castiglione della Pescaia?

By car, allow about 30 minutes to cover the 23 km between Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia, excluding slowdowns. The route usually goes via the provincial road towards the coast. In July and August, especially at beach departure or return times, plan for 40 to 50 minutes : traffic and parking on arrival can take time.

Without a car, a direct bus connects the station of Grosseto à Castiglione della Pescaia in about 40 to 45 minutes. It's convenient, but check the schedules for the specific day: departures and frequency vary depending on the period, the day of the week and school holidays. In high season, there may be more traffic, and the trip may take a little longer. If you arrive by train, look carefully at the departure from Grosseto station and the arrival stop at Castiglione, rather than relying solely on an estimated duration on a map.

Allow some extra time so that arriving doesn't turn into a race: Castiglione is best savored when you can stroll through its narrow streets.
