Price of'a meal in a trattoria in Maremma?

Account around 20 to 30 € per person for a simple meal in a trattoria in Maremma, and rather 35 to 50 € if you have a starter, main course, dessert and wine. To give a concrete reference, local menus list pasta at around 12 to 15 €mains with meat at around 13 to 20 €starters at 8 to 19 € and desserts at around 6 €. A plate of pasta and water can therefore be enough to stay under €20, but the total climbs quickly with several courses.

For a reasonable bill, plan on 25 to 35 € per person for a starter to share, a main course and a drink, without a bottle of wine. A cut of meat — especially a rib or a bistecca — can cost significantly more: check whether the price is listed per kilo or per 100 grams. On the coast and in places that are very busy in summer, don't assume the prices will be those of a small address inland. Look at the menu displayed before you sit down and check for any cover charge: prices can vary from one restaurant to another and online menus are not always up to date.

The trap is ordering a starter, pasta and meat out of reflex because everything looks tempting! Pick your side from the start, and save a little room for the dolce.
