Where to go to the sea near Grosseto?

From Grosseto, the closest beaches are Marina di Grosseto and Principina a Mare, about 12 à 15 km from the center, about twenty minutes by car depending on traffic. Marina is suitable if you want beach establishments, bars and services within easy reach; Principina is quieter, with a large sandy beach lined with pine forest and free sections. In July and August, these two resorts are busy: leaving early helps find a parking spot.

For a more natural setting, aim for Marina di Alberese, in the Maremma Park, about 20 km from Grosseto. The beach is wilder and services are limited; access and parking may be regulated, especially in season, so check the conditions before leaving. Another option, Le Marze, about fifteen kilometers away: sand, pine forest and fewer facilities than on the Marina di Grosseto seafront. For a practical day out, choose Marina; to walk in a more unspoiled landscape, Alberese. Outside summer, the beaches are quieter, but several establishments and services may be closed.

In your place, I wouldn't try to check off all the beaches: choose your mood of the day and leave some room for the unexpected, that's often where the Maremma reserves its best moments.
