How many days to spend on the island of Giglio?

Plan 2 nights and 3 days à Giglio Island to enjoy it without rushing; one day is only enough for a quick look, and the ferry ride already takes about 1 hour from Porto Santo Stefano.

With three days, you can explore Giglio Porto, monter à Giglio Castello and devote time to the beaches, for example Campese. The bus connects the port to Castello in about 14 minutes, then Campese in some 27 minutes in total, but frequencies vary by season. Some beaches, such as Cannelle and Arenella, are not served by the bus: check the transport options before relying on it.

Choose 4 days instead if you also want to go hiking or take a boat trip to the coves accessible by sea, or simply keep some time to swim without watching the clock. Off-season, the island is quieter, but services and connections may be less frequent; in summer, book the ferry and accommodation in advance. For a day trip, leave early and accept seeing only part of the island.
