Comment on noteOur opinion
Departing from Punta Ala, this sailboat gives you the option of sailing to the islands of the Tuscan archipelago or cruising along the Maremma coast at your own pace. I recommend it especially if you hold the required license and want to set out to sea on your own, with up to ten passengers on board.
The Delphia 40, named Penny Wil in its description, dates from 2009 and measures 12.3 meters. It can accommodate ten passengers and offers ten berths spread across four cabins according to the listing. The description also mentions two bathrooms. Its power is 65 hp. The rental is offered without a skipper: you therefore need someone able to handle the boat and holding the required boating license.
On board, the mentioned equipment includes an autopilot, a dinghy with its engine, a paddleboard, a sun awning, a spray hood and an outdoor table. You will also find an outdoor shower, hot water, electric toilets, fans, heating, a boarding ladder, outdoor speakers and USB ports. The towable buoy, the Seabob and Wi-Fi are also on the list. The tenants' rating is 3.21/5, based on four reviews: a benchmark to take into account along with the details of the feedback before booking.
From Punta Ala, the island of Elba lies about 12 miles away according to the description. You can also consider Capraia, in the Tuscan archipelago, or plan a coastal route towards the area around Cala Violina and Talamone. Further south, the Argentario coast and the islands of Giglio and Giannutri offer other ideas for stopovers, to be adapted to the length of your trip, the weather and sailing conditions. These destinations are not guaranteed in the rental: they are planned according to your itinerary and your experience.
I would see this Delphia as suitable for a crew that knows how to handle the boat and wants to spend several nights on board rather than for a first outing without experience. The Maremma is best discovered when you keep some flexibility in the program; in summer, check availability early enough and discuss the planned itinerary before confirming.
