Rosato is the local rosé, but be careful, not just any rosé. Here in Maremma, you'll mainly find Sangiovese Rosato, the king grape variety. Forget the very pale, light rosés you may know. Maremma Rosato is often more colorful, with a hue leaning towards raspberry or cherry. It has more body, more character, and it pairs perfectly with the local cuisine, from charcuterie to fish dishes. It's a refreshing and typical drink, a true immersion into the local wine culture.
