Home › Glossary › porcino mushroom
Fungo porcino is the porcini mushroom. In Maremma, it is not rare to find it in the forests in autumn. It is a true local pride, and you will often see it on restaurant menus, fresh or dried. It perfumes pasta, risottos, and sometimes accompanies a meat dish. Don't expect a revolutionary taste if you already know porcini, but it is an authentic way to taste the Tuscan forest and connect with seasonality and local culinary traditions.
