Comment on noteOur opinion
From Porto Santo Stefano, this 10-meter Ballini gozzo offers a comfortable way to cruise along Monte Argentario and enjoy a day at sea. I recommend it if you want to go out with a skipper and share the trip with family or friends, without organizing every step of the navigation yourself.
Built in 1994 and refitted in 2012, this motorboat develops 300 hp and can accommodate up to 12 passengers. It has two cabins and five berths: the capacity for a day trip therefore does not match the number of people who can sleep on board. For comfort, there is a sun awning, sun loungers at the bow and stern, an outdoor table, an outdoor shower with hot water, and a boarding ladder. The refrigerator, oven, and stove complete the equipment on board.
The autopilot, GPS, depth sounder, VHF, and bow thruster are also listed, along with the electric windlass, 220 V and USB outlets, and masks and snorkels. The rental is advertised with skipper. The description also mentions an aperitif with typical local products, a fish-based lunch, snorkeling gear, and fuel included. The listed rate starts at €1,300 per day; the displayed rating is 4.75/5, based on two reviews. The listing also mentions a boat license required: I advise you to check this condition with the provider before booking, since a skipper is advertised.
Departing from Porto Santo Stefano, the Monte Argentario coast allows for sailing toward its coves, while Giglio and Giannutri lie offshore. Talamone offers another coastal landmark of the Maremma. The stops and route are not specified: ask the skipper what is possible depending on the duration, the weather, and the conditions at sea. Since the trip is offered with a skipper, you can enjoy the ride without taking the helm yourself.
This boat suits a group that wants to combine swimming, meals on board, and discovering the coastline. In summer, I would book early and confirm the inclusions, the route, and the license condition before departure.
