What is the route to reach Mar Morto?

To reach the Dead Sea, take the road from Porto Santo Stefano in the direction of via del Campone, then follow it until you reach the locality of La Maddalena. At the end of the municipal road, continue left on the small asphalted road, narrow and winding. After about 4.3 km, spot the start of the trail on the right. The car is the most convenient means: park only where it is allowed, without obstructing traffic, as the road is narrow and some sections are poorly protected.

From the trail, allow about 15 minutes on foot to descend to the cove. The slope is steep and the path crosses the Mediterranean scrub; bring good shoes, especially for the return. The access is not suitable for strollers or people with walking difficulties. There is no public transport that drops you directly at the beach: without a car, you need to arrange a taxi from Porto Santo Stefano and check in advance that it can pick you up again. The cove is rocky, with no guaranteed services on site; bring water, sun protection and water shoes.
