How do you get to Cala del Gesso?

The simplest way is to drive to the Via Panoramica (SP 65), , on the Monte Argentario : from Porto Santo Stefano, follow the road until kilometer 5,9, then take Via dei Pionieri. After about 350 meters, you'll find a large gate with a pedestrian passage. Keep the car in an authorized spot along the road: parking is limited and you must not block access to the properties.

From the gate, allow 20 to 25 minutes on foot to go down to the cove, via a path that is first asphalted and then a trail with elevation change. The climb back up is more strenuous, especially in full heat; bring shoes that hold well on your feet, water and everything you need for the day. The beach is pebbly and there are no services on site. If you'd rather avoid the descent, you can also arrive by sea: the boat crossing from Porto Santo Stefano takes about 18 to 20 minutes, but check the options for going out or renting depending on the season.
